The skin is the largest organ in the body, so of course we want to treat it right from the inside-out! With so many products on the market complete with pretty packaging and huge promises, it can be so confusing to know what will work best for your skin.
But, believe it or not, sometimes buying products is the easy part!
Let’s break down what your basic skincare should look like day to day:
Cleanse, tone, moisturize, and eye cream twice a day
SPF in the morning
Two extra steps that give your skin that extra “WOW” factor is exfoliation and masking. If you have ever had a facial with me, you know I always say “give yourself a spa night at home,” or for the sake of our busy schedules, whenever you have a little extra time. Doing these two extra steps in between your regular four to six weeks facial keeps your skin glowing and allows better product absorption.
Exfoliation removes the buildup of dead skin from the surface of our skin, that’s why sometimes we feel like our skin is looking sluggish or feel that our products aren’t working as well as they can.
I’m going to walk you through some of my favorite products that I highly recommend:
Measured Micrograins + by Bioelements
It’s great even for the most reactive of skins. It has some incredible ingredients like Jojoba beads, Chinese Herbs, Aloe, and Oatmeal. The combination of these helps your pores feel more refined and leaves your skin feeling fresh and calm.
Pumice Peel by Bioelements
It has a very fine texture to it compared to a manual microdermabrasion. It happened to me on numerous occasions that I would get compliments on my skin the day I used Pumice Peel in the morning. The Vitamin E & C that are in it make it ideal for an anti-aging product with all the added benefits of hydrating and brightening!
Now, after you’ve exfoliated it’s time for a mask!
Adding a Mask after exfoliation nourishes that fresh new skin with whatever mask you choose to fit your individual skincare needs. You can never go wrong with a nice gel-based mask to balance the skin because at some point most of us can be dehydrated.
Here’s my favorite mask:
Hydroplunge by Bioelemets
Apply this hyper-saturating immersion mask all over your face, neck, under eyes and lips. This is going to save your skin with these New England winters. This mask is made with sugar beet extract and hyaluronic acid. You will feel such deep hydration and strengthening of your skin with all this nourishment.
Now after all this skin care talk I’m sure you want to go see what you have in your cabinet and what you may be missing! I’m always excited to talk about skin care – so if you need any help with adding or changing up your skin care regime, just ask!
